Brewers rally past Dodgers 6-2 to move within one win of World Series

LOS ANGELES — The Milwaukee Brewers are one win from the World Series after rallying for a 6-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

Jackson Chourio gave Milwaukee an early lead with a home run on Blake Snell’s first pitch of the game. Starter Robert Gasser held the Dodgers to three hits over five innings and struck out three.

The Dodgers moved ahead 2-1 in the sixth. Brewers reliever Abner Uribe walked Teoscar Hernández, Kyle Tucker and Shohei Ohtani, loading the bases before Will Smith doubled to center field to bring home two runs.

Milwaukee answered in the seventh. Andrew Vaughn drew a leadoff walk, and Jake Bauers followed with a two-run homer to put the Brewers back in front. Garrett Mitchell hit another home run later in the inning, extending the lead to 4-2.

The Brewers added a run in the eighth when Brice Turang reached on an infield hit, advanced after a William Contreras single and scored on a wild pitch. Joey Ortiz’s RBI single in the ninth made it 6-2, and Trevor Megill closed out the game.

Milwaukee now leads the best-of-seven series 3-0 and needs one more win to claim the National League pennant and advance to the World Series.
