Packers force five turnovers and roll past Bears at Lambeau Field
GREEN BAY — The Packers turned Sunday’s rivalry game into a one-sided win, beating the Chicago Bears 31-7 at Lambeau Field and improving to 3-2. Green Bay’s offense piled up 424 yards, while its defense forced five turnovers. Jordan Love completed 25 of 31 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. Christian Watson caught six passes for 143 yards and both scores, while rookie Matthew Golden added six catches for 123 yards. Running back MarShawn Lloyd scored twice on the ground. The performance came against a Chicago defense that entered the game ranked among the NFL’s best in points allowed, total yards allowed and passing yards allowed, according to the figures reported before kickoff. Green Bay’s defense also made a decisive impact. Safety Xavier McKinney intercepted two passes, and linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper added a third interception near the goal line. McKinney’s picks led to touchdowns, and Hopper’s stopped Chicago’s final serious scoring opportunity. The Bears also lost two fumbles. Chicago used Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum at quarterback, according to the game account. The Bears fell to 3-2. The teams are scheduled to meet again in Chicago on Christmas Day. The Packers’ otherwise commanding afternoon included a concern on special teams: rookie kicker Trey Smack missed an extra point and field goals from 47 and 43 yards. Both field-goal misses came while Green Bay had control of the game.
