Clark County school aide placed on unpaid leave after arrest on child abuse charges

A Clark County School District transportation aide was arrested Oct. 20 on charges of child abuse or neglect and endangerment, district police said.

Carmen Morris, 42, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center after an investigation that began earlier in October, according to the Clark County School District Police Department. Authorities have not publicly described the alleged conduct in the information released about the arrest.

Morris has worked for the district since February 2013 and most recently served as a special education transportation aide. Under the district’s negotiated agreement, she will be assigned to home without pay, the district said.

The charges are allegations, and an arrest is not a finding of guilt.
