Waymo starts airport pickups at Harry Reid, with service limited to 24-square-mile zone
The driverless ride service now picks up and drops off passengers at designated areas at Terminals 1 and 3. Trips are available only within Waymo’s current 24-square-mile Las Vegas service area, which the company says it plans to expand.
Waymo has begun offering fully driverless rides to and from Harry Reid International Airport, adding the airport to the service the company launched in Las Vegas in September 2026.
Passengers can meet vehicles at designated autonomous-vehicle zones on the Ground Zero Level of Terminals 1 and 3. Trips must start or end within Waymo’s 24-square-mile Las Vegas service area; the company says it intends to expand that zone over time.
The airport’s aviation director, James Chrisley, said the partnership adds another transportation option for travelers. Harry Reid serves millions of passengers each year, he said, and the airport is looking for ways to offer more choices for getting to and from the terminals.
Waymo’s airport service follows its agreements to serve as the official ride-hailing partner of the Las Vegas Raiders and Allegiant Stadium. The company says its autonomous vehicles have driven more than 270 million miles and that its data shows over 95% fewer serious-injury crashes than human drivers in comparable environments. Those safety figures are Waymo’s own claims.
The airport launch brings driverless rides to a major travel hub, though the limited service area means not every Las Vegas destination is currently reachable by Waymo from the airport.
