Two young children found unharmed after pregnant woman dies in Vail shooting

Pima County sheriff’s deputies detained Joseph Clark after finding his pregnant wife, Noelle Clark, dead at their Vail home Friday night. Their two children, ages 2 and 5, were not injured and were placed with the Arizona Department of Child Safety.

A 39-year-old pregnant woman was found dead with an apparent gunshot wound at a home in Vail on Friday night, and deputies detained her 49-year-old husband, authorities said. Pima County sheriff’s deputies went to the home near Houghton and Sahuarita roads at about 6:30 p.m. Oct. 9 after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance. Deputies detained Joseph Clark as he was leaving the home, according to the sheriff’s office. Inside, deputies found Noelle Clark dead. Two children, ages 2 and 5, were also in the home and were not injured. The Arizona Department of Child Safety took custody of the children. Authorities have not released information about what led to the woman’s death. The investigation remains active.
