Thunder lock in Cason Wallace with five-year, $139 million extension
Oklahoma City agreed to a five-year, $139 million rookie-scale extension with guard Cason Wallace. He led the NBA with 150 steals last season and earned a spot on the All-Defensive second team.
The Oklahoma City Thunder agreed Sunday to a five-year, $139 million rookie-scale contract extension with guard Cason Wallace, a deal that keeps one of the NBA’s top defensive playmakers with the team.
Wallace, who was named to the All-Defensive second team, led the league with 150 steals last season. He also posted career highs of 8.6 points and 2.6 assists per game, while shooting 43.2% from the field and 35.1% from 3-point range.
The extension follows Wallace’s third NBA season. Oklahoma City is securing a young guard whose defensive production stood out across the league while his scoring and playmaking numbers reached new career highs.
