Oklahoma City’s Otega Oweh to miss 2026-27 season after Achilles surgery

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Otega Oweh will miss the 2026-27 season after rupturing his right Achilles tendon during a preseason game against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday, Oct. 13, the team announced Wednesday.

Oweh underwent surgery Wednesday at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Dr. Martin O’Malley performed the procedure with Thunder medical staff present, and the team said it was successful.

The Thunder said it will provide further updates as appropriate. The injury sidelines Oweh before the regular season begins, removing him from Oklahoma City’s plans for the year.
