Oklahoma City Thunder guard Otega Oweh will miss the 2026–27 season after undergoing surgery Wednesday to repair a ruptured right Achilles tendon, the team announced.

The procedure took place in New York, with Thunder medical personnel present, the team said. Oweh suffered the injury Tuesday during Oklahoma City’s preseason game against the Indiana Pacers.

The Thunder described the operation as successful and said further updates would be provided as appropriate. Oweh was selected by Oklahoma City in the second round of the 2026 NBA Draft after playing for the Oklahoma Sooners.
