MILWAUKEE — The Brewers opened their National League Division Series with a 3-2 win over the Padres on Saturday night at American Family Field, overcoming an early deficit with home runs from Jackson Chourio and William Contreras. Milwaukee starter Jacob Misiorowski worked four innings, allowing two earned runs in a difficult second inning. The Brewers’ offense pulled even in the third when Chourio hit his fifth career postseason home run, setting a franchise record. The game remained tied until the seventh. With two outs, Contreras homered to give Milwaukee its first lead, 3-2. The Brewers’ bullpen held on for the victory. The best-of-five series continues Sunday at 3 p.m. in Milwaukee. Games 3 and 4, if needed, are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday in San Diego. Milwaukee needs two more wins to advance to the National League Championship Series as it pursues the franchise’s first World Series title.
