A 17-year-old was killed in a shooting Saturday night near North 39th Street and West Lisbon Avenue in Milwaukee’s Washington Park neighborhood, police said. A 14-year-old has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting. The shooting happened shortly before 10 p.m., near a barbershop and a community outreach center. Police have not said what led to the gunfire. A neighborhood resident identified only as Ken said the shooting happened in a place residents pass regularly, calling it a shock. He also voiced frustration that a 14-year-old could have access to a gun and described the violence as senseless. Police have not released the victim’s identity or announced any charges against the 14-year-old.
