A combine fire in Caledonia spread into a nearby field Sunday afternoon, causing an estimated $80,000 in damage, the Caledonia Fire Department said. Firefighters were dispatched at about 2:33 p.m. to the area of Northwestern Avenue and Highway V. A train delayed the first crews, but firefighters arrived shortly afterward and found the combine engulfed in flames, the department said. The farmer had reached a safe area and was not injured. Firefighters brought the fire under control within 15 minutes of their arrival.
