A 45-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged with seven felonies after prosecutors accused him of fatally shooting a patron at a Kenosha bar and firing at two officers who responded. Adam Scott Threlkeld faces charges including first-degree intentional homicide in the Sept. 20 death of Antero Medina, 33, at Shenanigans bar. A criminal complaint filed Monday, Sept. 28, says surveillance video shows Threlkeld arguing with Medina before drawing a gun and shooting him once in the chest. Prosecutors allege Threlkeld then fired at two Kenosha officers as they arrived about a block away. Gunfire struck a squad car, and the officers returned fire, according to the complaint. Threlkeld was taken to a hospital. Neither officer suffered significant physical injuries. The charges also include two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, two counts of reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm by a felon and felony bail jumping. The complaint says Threlkeld made a statement in the hospital indicating he did not intend to hurt anyone except the person he believed deserved to die. Kenosha police are investigating Medina’s killing. The Kenosha-Racine Area Investigative Team is investigating the officer-involved shooting, with the Racine County Sheriff’s Office leading that inquiry.
