Students and staff at Carmen High School of Science and Technology’s South Campus in Milwaukee were moved outside Monday morning after staff detected a gas smell in the building before students arrived, the school said. No students had entered the building, and students and staff were directed to the soccer field while We Energies responded to assess the situation. The school reported no injuries and said everyone was safe. As a precaution, the school asked families to pick up students and switched to asynchronous learning for the rest of Monday, Sept. 28. The school said it would share additional information with families as it became available.
