Isaiah Cramer’s parents seek answers in lawsuit over teen’s disappearance
The parents of Isaiah Cramer have sued the Norris Adolescent Center and its insurer, alleging the residential youth facility failed to protect their son before he disappeared in February 2024. Vance and Kimberly Cramer filed a wrongful-death complaint Oct. 9 in Waukesha County Circuit Court. The lawsuit says Isaiah, then 16, left the center on Feb. 4 and has not been found. The family’s complaint says he is presumed dead. The suit alleges the center did not adequately monitor or protect Isaiah, waited nearly an hour to call 911 and had no functioning security cameras that night. It also says three other young residents left the property with him but later returned. Those claims have not been proven in court. Attorney Jeff Olson, representing the family, said the lawsuit is intended to uncover what happened and why. The complaint seeks damages to be determined at trial. No hearings had been scheduled as of Oct. 12. Isaiah was photographed by a trail camera in the area on the night he disappeared, according to information provided about the case. There have been no confirmed sightings since. He was last described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes; he may need medical attention. The center’s executive director, Mark Mertens, was contacted for comment but had not responded by Oct. 12. Anyone with information about Isaiah or his disappearance can contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678 or the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office at 1-262-446-5070.
