Fitchburg’s McKee Road corridor adds restaurants, bank and car wash
Several businesses have opened or are preparing to open near McKee Road, while a YMCA project is set to break ground. The expansion follows several years of steady growth in Fitchburg, according to the city’s Chamber of Commerce.
FITCHBURG, Wis. — New restaurants and other businesses are clustering near McKee Road this fall, with more openings planned and a YMCA project moving toward construction.
A McDonald’s opened at the end of August, and Miyabi Sushi opened across the street in September. Chick-fil-A was scheduled to open later this week, according to information shared Oct. 12. Chase Bank is also planned for the area.
Crew Carwash, which would be the company’s first Wisconsin location, is expected to open in November. General manager Justin Royer said the McKee Road site offered access to nearby businesses and other commercial opportunities.
Miyabi Sushi general manager Tommy Mahayasa said the restaurant had already begun attracting regular customers during its first month. He said the owners were proud to call Fitchburg home.
A YMCA facility is also in development, with a groundbreaking planned for Tuesday, Oct. 13. The Chamber said Fitchburg has experienced steady growth over the past several years, with additional projects in early development.
