Two drivers were killed in a wrong-way collision early Friday on Interstate 15 near Valley of Fire, prompting a southbound highway closure and detours, Nevada State Police said.
The crash was reported shortly after 4 a.m. near mile marker 77 and involved a two-door coupe and a four-door sedan. Police said one vehicle was traveling north in the southbound lanes. Investigators had not identified which vehicle was going the wrong way.
Both drivers — an adult man and an adult woman — died at the scene, police said.
Southbound I-15 traffic was closed at Exit 93, State Route 168. Drivers were being directed onto State Route 168, also known as Glendale-Moapa Road, and then to U.S. 93. Police said the closure would remain in place for an undetermined period during the investigation.
