LAS VEGAS — Levante Davidson, 32, was arrested Oct. 15 in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month near Decatur Boulevard and Meadows Lane, according to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrest report.

Police received reports of gunfire at about 8:06 p.m. Oct. 4 in the 300 block of Decatur Boulevard. About 11 minutes later, a red Hyundai Sonata arrived at University Medical Center with a person suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. The person was pronounced dead at about 9:30 p.m., the report said.

The driver initially told police that one or two men had fired into the car while it was parked at Dotty’s. After investigators showed him surveillance footage indicating another person had been in the back seat, he acknowledged that a friend was with him, according to the report. The driver had identified that friend as “Boosie”; police later identified him as Davidson using a booking photo.

Investigators reviewed footage from two nearby businesses. The report says the Hyundai arrived in the area at 7:34 p.m., with Davidson in the front passenger seat. A minute later, the victim arrived in a red Dodge Durango and got into the Hyundai’s front passenger seat. The three people went in and out of the car over the next half-hour, the report says.

At about 8:05 p.m., footage showed smoke coming from the Hyundai’s front passenger door. Davidson then exited through the rear driver-side door, appeared to drop a handgun, picked it up and ran south, according to the report.

Crime-scene analysts recovered seven spent 9mm casings inside the Hyundai and documented seven bullet impacts exiting the interior passenger door. The Clark County coroner recorded 11 gunshot wounds, including wounds to the victim’s neck, shoulders and wrist. The death was ruled a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.

Davidson is scheduled to return to court Wednesday. The arrest report describes allegations; the case is pending in court.
