Nevada unemployment falls to 4.7% in September; Clark County holds at 4.8%
Nevada’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dipped one-tenth of a percentage point in September, while the U.S. rate edged up. Clark County stayed at 4.8%, and Southern Nevada’s labor force shrank by 2,366 workers.
Nevada’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 4.7% in September, down from 4.8% in August, according to a report released Oct. 20 by the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.
The statewide decline contrasted with a slight increase in the national rate, which rose to 4.2% from 4.1% in August, the report said.
Clark County’s unemployment rate remained at 4.8%, unchanged from August. The county rate was 0.9% lower than in September 2025, according to the report. Las Vegas’ rate increased a tenth of a point to 4.8%, while Henderson’s fell from 4.9% to 4.8%.
Southern Nevada’s rate was broadly steady even as its labor force — people working or seeking work — declined by 2,366 workers, the report said. The figures offer a mixed picture for local workers: unemployment rates held near recent levels, but the regional labor force contracted.
