Coastal flood warning covers Northeast Florida as nor’easter keeps beaches rough

Northeast Florida can expect another windy day Sunday as a nor’easter brings limited showers and hazardous conditions along the coast, according to the forecast issued Oct. 25, 2026.

A coastal flood warning covers the entire coast, the St. Johns River and its tributaries. Forecasters said flooding is possible around high tide. Beach erosion is also likely through the week, and rough surf will make conditions in the water dangerous.

Gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected at the beaches. Showers moving inland from the Atlantic are possible through the day, though coverage is expected to be more limited than Saturday. The forecast called for a high near 74 degrees Sunday and a low around 66 overnight.

Winds should ease somewhat by Tuesday, but breezy northeast winds are expected to continue through the week. Monday and Tuesday should bring more sunshine and drier air; isolated showers may return by midweek and continue through Halloween. Temperatures are expected to rise from Tuesday through Saturday, with highs reaching the upper 70s by the end of the week.

Forecasters reported no active tropical storms Sunday. The next name on the Atlantic storm list is Kyle.
