Donald Silva, 60, dies after shooting at Atlanta Technical College
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Donald Silva as the student who died after a shooting Monday at Atlanta Technical College. Another student was wounded in the leg, police said.
Donald Silva, a 60-year-old student, died after a shooting Monday at Atlanta Technical College, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said Tuesday.
Atlanta police said officers responded to the campus after a student’s gun accidentally discharged in a classroom. They found one student with a gunshot wound to the leg and Silva dead in a bathroom from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The college secured the campus after the shooting. Classes and other operations later resumed, and a college spokesperson said the school’s thoughts were with the students, their families and the campus community.
