More than 80 shell casings found after North Seattle shooting; one person grazed

Seattle police are investigating a Saturday morning shooting near North 107th Street and Stone Way North that left one person grazed by a bullet and damaged nearby homes and cars.

Officers responded at about 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 24 after reports of numerous gunshots, according to police. They found more than 80 shell casings from several firearms, including rifles and handguns.

At least two residents’ homes or apartments were struck. Police said a bullet entered one woman’s apartment through a window and nearly hit her. Another homeowner showed a local television station a bullet that had hit the side of his house.

Witnesses reported seeing a black sedan leave the scene toward Aurora Avenue North. Police used Real Time Crime Center cameras to locate footage of a black sedan that appeared to have extensive bullet damage, but officers did not find the vehicle.

No suspects were in custody. Detectives with the Seattle Police Department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit are investigating.
