Sea-Tac Starbucks in Terminal A set to close as airport contract ends

A Starbucks in Terminal A at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is set to close when the company’s airport contract expires, according to a notice dated Oct. 23 and filed with Washington’s Employment Security Department.

The closure is expected to affect about 13 employees, whose separations are scheduled to occur between Dec. 31, 2026, and Jan. 13, 2027. The notice says the affected employees are represented by a union and may have bumping rights, which can allow workers to claim other positions under applicable labor rules. Starbucks said notice had been or was being provided to affected employees.

The notice was also addressed to the mayors of SeaTac and Seattle and identifies the location as 17801 International Blvd. It does not specify what will happen to the Terminal A space after the contract ends.
