Police: 37-year-old told San Jose hospital he killed his wife
A Morgan Hill man was arrested after telling staff at Good Samaritan Hospital that he had killed his wife, police said. The woman died at the hospital, and three children were found at the couple’s home and placed with county family services.
A 37-year-old Morgan Hill man was arrested Saturday after telling staff at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose that he had killed his wife, authorities said.
First responders found the woman critically injured in a vehicle parked at the hospital. She died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts, police said.
The man, identified by police as Roy Anthony Lopez, was first detained by San Jose police and then taken into custody by Morgan Hill officers. He was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of murder. The allegation has not been proven in court.
Investigators believe the killing took place at a home in the 1100 block of Vintage Lane in Morgan Hill. Officers searching the residence found three children, ages 14, 6 and 3. They were taken to the Morgan Hill Police Department and later released to the Santa Clara County Department of Family and Children’s Services.
Police had not released the woman’s identity or said how she was killed as of Monday, Oct. 5.
