Pedestrian dies after suspected hit-and-run on southbound I-680 in San Jose
A woman was killed late Monday after being struck on southbound Interstate 680 near North Capitol Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. The driver left the scene, and investigators are seeking information about the vehicle and driver.
A woman died after being struck by a vehicle on southbound Interstate 680 in San Jose late Monday, Oct. 5, in a suspected hit-and-run, the California Highway Patrol said.
Officers responded at about 11 p.m. to reports of a pedestrian collision on the freeway north of North Capitol Avenue. The woman, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP officials said.
Investigators determined that a vehicle hit the woman and its driver fled. As of early Tuesday, authorities had not released a description of the vehicle or driver. The freeway had reopened by then.
