A pedestrian was found dead on Highway 92 in San Mateo early Tuesday, after authorities received a report of someone walking in the highway’s left lane, the California Highway Patrol said. The pedestrian was found beneath the Mariners Island Boulevard overpass, east of Highway 101. CHP was notified at about 6:15 a.m. on Oct. 6. The person’s identity and other details were not immediately released. A witness reported seeing a possible white Ford pickup with a roof rack stop at the scene, but investigators had not determined whether the truck was involved, CHP said. The investigation is ongoing. Multiple lanes were blocked as authorities responded. Drivers were advised to take alternate routes and expect delays; all lanes reopened shortly after 7:30 a.m.
