Phoenix police arrest 23-year-old in fatal shooting of two men

Taishawn Terry Bailey was arrested Wednesday in connection with a double killing near 16th and McKinley streets. The victims were identified as Charles Hendrix, 56, and Jerry Braggs, 64.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of two men in central Phoenix, police said. Taishawn Terry Bailey was taken into custody Wednesday near 44th Street and Baseline Road, where officers also recovered a firearm, according to Phoenix police. He was booked into jail on two counts of first-degree murder and is being held on a $2 million cash-only bond. The shooting happened shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday near 16th and McKinley streets, south of Interstate 10. The victims were identified as Charles Hendrix, 56, and Jerry Braggs, 64. Police initially thought a third person might have been involved, but confirmed at the scene that there were no other victims. Investigators have not publicly identified a relationship between Bailey and the men.
