A 24-year-old employee of Quick and Quality Breakfast & Deli in West Philadelphia was hospitalized after being shot three times outside the business Monday night, police said.
The incident began when a man returned to the deli about 40 minutes after an earlier visit and argued with the cashier, Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace said. Two employees tried to calm the situation. The 24-year-old and the man then went outside, where the man shot the employee in the abdomen, lower thigh and back, Pace said.
The employee was in serious but stable condition at a hospital. Police described the suspect as a man in his 20s wearing a black cap, a black long-sleeve shirt and tan pants. No arrest was reported.
