A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of George Rivera, 25, in Lawnside, according to Camden County prosecutors.

Nicholas Stiegler is accused of shooting Rivera on Aug. 21 on West Hodges Avenue. Prosecutors say detectives determined the shots were fired from inside a red Jeep Compass. Rivera was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle and died later that night.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage that they say showed the Jeep traveling from Camden to the shooting location in Lawnside, then returning to Camden.

Stiegler was charged on Oct. 15 and arrested the next day by members of the U.S. Marshals Service. A hearing was scheduled for Oct. 23. The allegations have not been proven in court.
