22-year-old motorcyclist dies after collision at Tacony intersection
A 22-year-old motorcyclist died Thursday night after a crash at Longshore Avenue and New State Road in Philadelphia’s Tacony neighborhood. Police say a northbound BMW turning onto Longshore was struck by the southbound motorcycle.
A 22-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene of a crash Thursday night at Longshore Avenue and New State Road in Philadelphia’s Tacony neighborhood, police said.
The collision was reported at about 9:48 p.m. Preliminary findings indicate a 2019 black BMW was traveling north on New State Road and turning left to continue west on Longshore Avenue when the motorcycle, traveling south on New State Road, struck it.
Police said the motorcyclist had been navigating a curve shortly before the crash and was thrown from the motorcycle. The BMW driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Police have not released the motorcyclist’s name or further details about the investigation.
