Authorities arrested 18-year-old Reaginald D. Wilson in Midwest City on Thursday, the sixth suspect taken into custody in an armed robbery at a southern Cleveland County marijuana grow. Investigators say two victims were hit with firearms and recovered marijuana and weapons during the investigation.
An 18-year-old was arrested in Midwest City on Thursday in connection with an armed robbery at a marijuana grow operation in southern Cleveland County, bringing the number of people in custody to six, authorities said.
Reaginald D. Wilson was arrested after a search warrant was served with assistance from the Midwest City Police Department, according to the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office. He faces charges including first-degree burglary, robbery, trafficking a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is being held at the Cleveland County Detention Center on a $60,000 bond.
The robbery was reported about 11:30 a.m. Oct. 2 near 180th Street and Box Road. Deputies responding to the scene found that two victims had been struck with firearms; one suffered a head injury. Sheriff Darrell Weaver said one victim was hit with the butt of what investigators believe was an AK-47, while another was struck with a pistol.
A neighbor told authorities he saw masked people carrying large blue containers from the property. The sheriff’s office said an investigation involving its investigators, the Oklahoma City Police Department and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation led to the arrests. Authorities reported recovering trafficking quantities of marijuana, four handguns and a shotgun.
Other people arrested include Tommy Faretra, Ronald Hopper, Andre Whittenberg and two juveniles. Faretra and Whittenberg face robbery, burglary and conspiracy charges, among others, and are each held on $750,000 bond. Hopper faces charges including drug trafficking and firearm offenses and is held on a $750,000 bond. The juveniles are being held at the Alan J. Couch Juvenile Detention Center.
The investigation is continuing, and authorities said another juvenile arrest remains possible. The charges are allegations; the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
