Gallatin officer faces homicide-attempt charge after Nashville domestic call
Gallatin police officer Carrington Ferguson was arrested in Nashville and charged after his wife reported an assault early Oct. 24. The department placed him on administrative leave while it conducts an internal investigation.
A Gallatin Police Department officer has been placed on administrative leave after Nashville police arrested him on charges including attempted criminal homicide in connection with an alleged assault on his wife.
Carrington Ferguson was arrested after Metro Nashville police responded to a domestic disturbance report in the Madison Precinct at about 2 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, according to an arrest affidavit. He was also charged with interfering with a 911 call and assault, and was booked on $80,000 bond.
The affidavit says Ferguson’s wife told officers she had been assaulted and threatened. She reported concerns about his use of Adderall and a weight-loss supplement, alleging the drugs had changed his behavior. The document says officers observed visible injuries on her neck, face and arms.
Gallatin police said they placed Ferguson on administrative leave after being notified of the domestic-related incident in Davidson County. The department said he would remain on leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
The charges are allegations; the affidavit does not establish guilt.
