Barnes Road closure near Nolensville Pike to last through March 2027
TDOT plans to close Barnes Road at Nolensville Pike beginning Oct. 26 for utility work and new turn lanes. Drivers can reach Barnes Road from Cedarmont Drive during construction.
A section of Barnes Road at Nolensville Pike is scheduled to close Oct. 26 and remain closed until March 2027 as work advances on the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Nolensville Pike widening project.
Barnes Road will remain accessible from Cedarmont Drive, TDOT said. The closure is needed to relocate utilities and build an additional turn lane onto Nolensville Pike and a right-turn lane onto Labrador Lane.
The work will also involve changes to road elevations and utility infrastructure, with rock excavation anticipated, according to TDOT.
The broader project covers about 4.4 miles, from south of Burkitt Road to near State Route 254, also known as Old Hickory Boulevard. It spans Davidson and Williamson counties. TDOT says the widening and reconstruction are intended to ease congestion, improve safety and accommodate growth in the area.
