Student struck with apparent gun outside Bradley Tech during dismissal; police investigate
A person unaffiliated with Bradley Tech hit a student with what appeared to be a gun’s handle outside the Milwaukee school Monday. The student declined medical care, and police are working to locate the person who left the scene.
Milwaukee police are investigating after a student was struck with what appeared to be the handle of a gun outside Bradley Tech High School during dismissal Monday, school leaders said.
The person who hit the student was not part of the school community and left before officers arrived, according to a message from the principal to families and staff. The student was offered medical assistance but declined it.
School staff brought students who were still outside back into the building, and Milwaukee police school resource officers responded to manage the situation and investigate. Dismissal resumed a short time later with officers present.
The principal said the school would continue taking steps to maintain a safe environment and urged families whose children were upset by the incident to contact the school office for support from counseling and health staff.
