Ozaukee County seeks man after bicycling child critically hurt in Grafton crash
Ozaukee County authorities are searching for David Sitar, 37, after a van struck an 11-year-old boy riding a bicycle Friday evening in the Town of Grafton, critically injuring the child, the sheriff’s office said. The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. near Port Washington and Arrowhead roads. Investigators say Sitar was driving a 2013 Ford work van, hit the boy and left the scene. Authorities later recovered the van but had not located Sitar as of Saturday, Oct. 3. The sheriff’s office said Sitar may be in the Kenosha area and could be getting rides from relatives or friends or using rideshare services. He is described as 6 feet tall, about 180 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. According to the sheriff’s office, felony warrants have been issued for first-degree reckless endangerment, hit-and-run causing injury, and operating a motor vehicle without a license causing great bodily harm. The warrants are allegations, not findings of guilt. Anyone with information about Sitar’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office at 262-284-7172.
