AT&T wiring damage near Potawatomi leads to charges against Milwaukee man
A 46-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged after witnesses reported seeing him cut wiring beneath a bridge near Potawatomi Casino, according to a criminal complaint. Noo Mah faces charges of criminal damage to property and bail jumping. The complaint alleges witnesses saw him cutting the wires Saturday. The wiring served equipment belonging to AT&T, which estimated the damage at $2,800. The case comes as Milwaukee contends with a broader increase in copper-wire theft. The city’s Department of Public Works said this week that thefts have caused about $650,000 in damage over the past year. Copper wire is often targeted for the metal inside, and thefts can damage equipment and infrastructure. The allegations have not been proven in court.
