Milwaukee police investigate fatal shooting near 77th and Carmen, second shooting injures 24-year-old
A 42-year-old was killed near 77th Street and Carmen Avenue early Saturday, while a separate shooting near 94th and Thurston left a 24-year-old expected to survive. Police reported no arrests in either case.
Milwaukee police are investigating two shootings reported overnight into Saturday, Oct. 10, including a fatal shooting in the city’s Silver Spring neighborhood and a separate incident that injured a 24-year-old in Silver Swan.
A 42-year-old was shot and killed around 2:30 a.m. near 77th Street and Carmen Avenue, police said. The victim died at the scene. No one had been arrested in connection with the shooting as of Saturday morning.
A second shooting happened shortly after midnight near 94th Street and Thurston Avenue. A 24-year-old was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, police said. No arrest had been made in that case either.
The shootings remain under investigation. A photojournalist at the fatal shooting scene saw an FBI officer there, though no further details about the officer’s role were provided.
