Trailer and box truck burn in early-morning northwest Miami-Dade fire
Ten Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded to a blaze near Northwest 79th Street shortly after 3:20 a.m. Tuesday. No injuries were reported, and the cause remains under investigation.
A converted trailer and a box truck were engulfed in flames early Tuesday near the 1200 block of Northwest 79th Street in northwest Miami-Dade, officials said.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue sent 10 units to the scene at about 3:21 a.m. Crews extinguished the fire and kept it from spreading to nearby vehicles, though items next to the trailer were scorched. Firefighters then applied foam to help prevent the flames from reigniting.
No injuries were reported.
A man identified as Roberto, who works at the junkyard, said a battery being charged had exploded. Officials have not determined the cause of the fire, which remains under investigation. A blown transformer was also mentioned as a possible cause.
