Pembroke Pines man charged in Sept. 28 shooting at North Miami-area laundromat
Antone Lucas, 28, was arrested in connection with a shooting at Zippy Coin Laundry that left a man critically injured. The victim survived, and Lucas was being held without bond Monday morning, records showed.
A 28-year-old Pembroke Pines man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder in a Sept. 28 shooting at Zippy Coin Laundry near North Miami, according to a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
Investigators allege Antone Lucas stood less than 10 feet from the victim and shot him in the face, chest, right arm and abdomen. A detective said surveillance video helped establish probable cause, according to the report.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took the wounded man to HCA Aventura Hospital. He was in critical condition but survived, deputies said.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Lucas at about 7:40 p.m. Friday near Northeast Third Court and 138th Street. He was booked shortly after 12:50 a.m. Saturday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and remained there without bond as of Monday morning, according to inmate records.
Lucas also faces a charge of unlawfully discharging a firearm in a public place, records show. The charges are allegations; the arrest report does not establish guilt.
