MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin closed its nonconference schedule with its most complete performance of the season, defeating Eastern Michigan 54-10 Saturday to move to 2-1. The Badgers’ offense produced a 54-point outing, but the defense repeatedly helped create favorable field position. Wisconsin forced three turnovers, with each takeaway leading directly to a touchdown. Mason Posa made his first career interception in the second quarter. The turnover set up a rushing touchdown by Darrion Dupree. On Eastern Michigan’s next possession, Matt Jung recorded his first interception in a Wisconsin uniform. The Badgers converted that opportunity into a touchdown catch by Tyrell Henry. Wisconsin completed the takeaway sequence in the third quarter. Sebastian Cheeks forced a fumble, Cooper Catalano recovered it and returned it for a touchdown. Coach Luke Fickell characterized the Week 3 victory as the kind of result Wisconsin needed. The win gave the Badgers momentum as they concluded nonconference play and turned toward the rest of their schedule.
