MADISON, Wis. — Two drivers involved in a crash that killed a construction worker on Madison’s east side are cooperating with police, authorities said Sunday. One driver initially left the scene. The crash happened at about 1:10 p.m. Thursday near Pflaum and Alder roads, in front of Sennett Middle School. A vehicle struck a 65-year-old man doing road work with a crew near Alder Road. Police said possible racing behavior occurred before the crash. Traffic specialists are interviewing witnesses and reviewing video gathered at the scene and submitted by residents. Authorities said they expect to release more information next week.
