Iowa County authorities reported a fatal hit-and-run near Mineral Point on Tuesday, Oct. 13, and said deputies located a vehicle connected to the case in the Town of Ridgeway. A large emergency response was reported at a traffic stop on westbound U.S. Highway 18/151 near Exit 52. The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office said the public was not in danger. Authorities had not released further details about the crash, the person who died or the vehicle’s driver. The sheriff’s office said it planned to provide more information later Tuesday.
