Dane County homicide retrial set for May 2027 in Sun Prairie woman’s killing
Gerson Blas Noe is scheduled to face a second trial on homicide and corpse-hiding charges after a jury deadlocked on those counts. He was convicted in August of providing false information in the missing-person case.
A new trial for Gerson Blas Noe on charges stemming from the death of Ingrid Isamar Valverde-Ponce is scheduled to begin May 17, 2027, according to a court schedule announced Tuesday, Oct. 6.
The seven-day trial will address charges of first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse. A jury status hearing is set for April 12, 2027.
Blas Noe, 25, was tried earlier this year. On Aug. 31, jurors found him guilty of providing false information in a missing-person case but could not reach a verdict on the homicide and corpse-hiding charges, resulting in a partial mistrial.
Valverde-Ponce, 27, was found dead in January 2025 in the town of Bristol, after her family reported her missing. Blas Noe is accused of killing her and concealing her body. The allegations have not been proven in court, and the new trial will address the unresolved charges.
If convicted of first-degree intentional homicide, Blas Noe could face life in prison.
