44-year-old motorcyclist hospitalized after striking median and sign in Madison
A 44-year-old man was taken to a hospital after losing control of his motorcycle Friday morning near North Stoughton Road and Reider Road. Madison police said speed may have been involved and are investigating whether alcohol played a role.
A 44-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized after crashing near North Stoughton Road and Reider Road in Madison shortly before 8:15 a.m. Friday, according to Madison police.
Police said the rider lost control, hit a median and then struck a traffic sign. The impact threw him from the motorcycle.
A witness reported that the motorcycle had been traveling at a high rate of speed. Police also said the rider was not wearing a helmet and that investigators are determining whether alcohol was a factor.
The crash remains under investigation. Police have not released the man's condition or identified any other vehicles involved.
