Two people killed in Friday shooting at Henderson apartment
A man and woman, both believed to be about 30, were found shot to death inside an apartment on Center Street. Police took a person into custody after a vehicle that left the complex crashed nearby.
Two people were killed in a shooting at a Henderson apartment complex Friday morning, police said.
Officers were called around 7 a.m. to the 1000 block of Center Street, near Lake Mead Parkway and Warm Springs Road. A caller reported hearing gunfire inside an apartment and seeing someone drive away from the complex, Henderson police Capt. Haven Tillmon said.
Police found a man and a woman, both believed to be about 30 years old, with gunshot wounds inside the apartment. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle that left the complex later crashed on Lake Mead Parkway near Lake Las Vegas, Tillmon said. Officers responding to the crash took a person into custody. Police have not publicly identified the person or announced charges. The investigation is ongoing.
The shooting came one day after a woman was found dead from a gunshot wound at a nearby Center Street apartment complex. Tillmon said police believe the two shootings are not connected.
