Yella Beezy murder case advances as Dallas jury is seated
A jury has been selected to hear the capital murder case against rapper Markies Conway, known as Yella Beezy, who prosecutors accuse of arranging MO3’s killing. Conway has pleaded not guilty; the trial is expected to last about three weeks.
A jury has been seated in the capital murder trial of Dallas rapper Markies Conway, known professionally as Yella Beezy, who is accused of arranging the 2020 killing of fellow rapper Melvin Noble, known as MO3.
The trial is scheduled to begin Tuesday morning in Dallas. Judge Chika Anyiam expects it to last about three weeks.
Prosecutors allege Conway paid Kewon White $40,000 to kill Noble. Conway has pleaded not guilty. The charge concerns an alleged murder-for-hire plot, and the accusations against Conway have not been proven in court.
White was tried separately. A jury found him guilty of capital murder in September, and he was sentenced to life in prison. Prosecutors accused White of being paid to shoot Noble.
Noble was killed in November 2020 after being chased on foot along Interstate 35E in Dallas and shot in broad daylight. Conway is the second of three men to stand trial in connection with the alleged plot.
