A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with a fatal shooting in Dallas earlier this month, police said.
La’Tyron Richmond was taken into custody Oct. 23 and booked into the Dallas County Jail. The charge stems from a shooting reported at about 9:14 a.m. Oct. 16 in the 7300 block of Marvin D. Love Freeway.
Dallas officers responding to an “assist officer” call found 23-year-old Elidrian Trovell Reed with a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced Reed dead at the scene.
Police have not released details about the circumstances of the shooting or a possible motive. The investigation remains active, and an arrest and charge are allegations; Richmond is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
