Arlington bomb-threat response moves Ditto students to Martin High; Swift reopens

Several Arlington schools were evacuated Tuesday morning, Oct. 27, after bomb threats, prompting searches by police and fire crews. No injuries were reported, and officials said they had no information indicating the threats were credible.

At Ditto Elementary, students were temporarily taken by bus to Martin High School while the Arlington Fire Department searched the elementary school. Arlington ISD asked parents not to go to Martin to pick up students until they receive further instructions from the district.

The Arlington Fire Department’s explosive ordnance disposal team and Arlington police were also investigating a threat at Oakridge School. Students at Swift Elementary had returned to class after an earlier evacuation.

Police said they were assisting the fire department in the response. Authorities had not identified the other schools affected, disclosed who made the threats or said when students at the remaining schools could return to class.
