The Columbus Blue Jackets signed Adam Fantilli to a six-year contract extension worth $82.5 million, the team announced Thursday, Sept. 24. The deal carries an average annual value of $13.75 million and keeps the center under contract through the 2031-32 season. Fantilli has totaled 67 goals and 73 assists since his NHL debut with Columbus in 2023. He is the third player in franchise history to record multiple 20-goal seasons before turning 22, joining Rick Nash and Pierre-Luc Dubois. General Manager Don Waddell said Fantilli’s speed, size, skill and competitive drive make him a central part of the team’s plans. Waddell called the signing an exciting day for the organization and its fans. The extension secures a long-term commitment to one of the Blue Jackets’ young players as the team continues to build its roster in Columbus.
