Cornerstone Academy principal dismissed after students encounter sexual material on device
A middle school principal at Cornerstone Academy in New Albany no longer works at the school after students encountered sexual content featuring adults on the principal’s personal device while on campus, the school said Oct. 11, 2026. Cornerstone Academy said it considers student safety and well-being its highest priorities. During the transition, the assistant principal and superintendent will support middle school students, families and staff, a school spokesperson said. The principal was employed by ACCEL Schools, the third-party operator of the charter school. Cornerstone Academy said it supports ACCEL’s decision to end the principal’s employment. The principal was not named in the school’s statement. The school’s next board meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m.
