PHILADELPHIA — Bryce Young threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns to Tommy Tremble, while Chuba Hubbard added 120 rushing yards and a score as the Carolina Panthers beat the Philadelphia Eagles 25-14 on Sunday.

Carolina (3-2) pulled away in the second half against an Eagles team missing quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley. Philadelphia (2-4) has dropped four straight for the first time since 2020.

Young’s first touchdown pass to Tremble covered 12 yards in the second quarter. After Philadelphia cut the lead to 10-7 by halftime, Young kept a third-quarter drive alive with a 32-yard completion to Jalen Coker on third-and-8 from the Panthers’ 10-yard line. Carolina later converted fourth-and-1 on Hubbard’s 19-yard run, and Hubbard finished the possession with a 2-yard touchdown run for a 19-7 lead.

The Eagles narrowed the margin to 19-14 early in the fourth quarter when backup quarterback Tanner McKee found DeVonta Smith for a 19-yard touchdown. But after Philadelphia forced a punt, McKee lost 12 yards on a fumble. Young then capped the Panthers’ next scoring drive with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Tremble.

McKee, making his third career start, completed 26 of 45 passes for 215 yards and a touchdown. The Eagles’ offense managed just 37 total yards in the first quarter and was held scoreless in the third. Hurts is on injured reserve with a blood clot in his calf and is expected to miss at least four games. Barkley sat out his second straight game with a hamstring injury; backup running backs Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby were also unavailable.

Philadelphia coach Dave Canales praised his team’s effort. Carolina, however, was penalized 13 times for 149 yards. Canales said many of the flags came from players trying too hard in certain situations.

Panthers kicker Ryan Fitzgerald made field goals of 47 and 52 yards, though he missed an extra point. His 52-yarder was his 11th consecutive successful field-goal attempt to open the season.

Carolina will host Tampa Bay next Sunday. Philadelphia is scheduled to host Dallas on Oct. 26.
